Las Vegas, NV (November 30, 2021) – Earlier this month Black Ownership Matters (BOM) brought together a diverse audience of black-owned businesses, researchers and conference attendees during several hosted events at the National Pest Management Association’s (NPMA) global flagship event, PestWorld. This marked BOM’s inaugural appearance at the event, introducing a diverse audience to industry-wide resources, community and education.
The 2021 PestWorld conference and expo provided access to an international forum to connect with other industry professionals and resources to encourage business growth. Most importantly, in partnership with NPMA, BOM offered several black-owned pest management businesses within their mentorship pipeline complimentary full registration packages to the 5-day event.
During an inaugural reception, BOM President Jason Payne presented the organization’s mission of moving the needle forward in advancing equity and inclusion to industry-leading companies and media. In addition, the small businesses currently in BOM’s mentorship pipeline shared their stories of growth, and the need for support within the industry.
Highlighting some of Las Vegas’ offerings, BOM hosted an after-hours networking event to create an open opportunity for everyone in the industry to build community with BOM and mix and mingle with the membership and businesses that BOM supports.
Black Ownership Matters continues to build a support network that bolsters black business success. The organization, founded in 2020, has benefited from the support of contributing companies and continues to encourage those interested in sharing their resources and knowledge to visit us online to get involved or to donate.
